Project RaceMan : Game Engine for Vehicle Simulation and Racing Game Development
Project type
3D Game Engine [OpenGL]
Date
April 2026 - Present
Github
Youtube
A custom-built game engine project exploring how specialized tools and systems can improve the development and understanding of racing simulations.
Rather than replicating a full general-purpose engine, this project focuses on designing a targeted pipeline for vehicle behavior, real-time interaction, and rapid iteration.
To investigate how custom engine tools and system design can make complex vehicle dynamics easier to control, visualize, and experiment with in real time.
⚙️ Key Systems
Engine Architecture
Object–Component system for modular design
Scene & project management (serialization, save/load)
Prefab system and asset handling pipeline
Rendering & Editor
OpenGL-based rendering pipeline (PBR foundation)
Scene editor with hierarchy, object selection, and transform gizmos
Editor and runtime camera systems
Physics & Performance
Integrated physics system (rigid body & collision handling)
Collision culling and data optimization for real-time stability
Structured update loop for consistent simulation
Vehicle System (Core Focus)
Built-in vehicle component
Real-time editable tuning profiles (handling, traction, acceleration)
Parameter-driven driving behavior for experimentation
Project Management & Deployment
